“No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar.”
Have any of you wondered what a quote someone has said means? Well not everyone does, I am going to tell you what I think this quote from Abraham Lincoln means.
In my mind this quote means that no man is good at lying and can’t be successful at it no matter what or how hard you try to be a liar. In order to be successful, you need to have trust from others and be honest with yourself. Being successful depends on these two things. If you do not have them you won’t be successful. If you become successful by lying eventually someone or people will find out and it would or could ruin your reputation, and that will make you unsuccessful really fast. They would find out you lied and they will lose all their trust in you and all your trust for yourself and people. So, people need to be smart and not try to act innocent and go behind others back and stabbing them after you used them to get what you wanted. That’s not ok. People need to understand this, so they do not ruin their lives.
I think this is what Abe Lincoln was trying to say to get through people’s heads. Lying in to be successful is not right. I think Lincoln got his point across and wanted the message to get to everyone in the nation. I think this is a good saying because there are people out there like this. Abraham Lincoln is one of the greatest examples of all time.
