Abraham Lincoln once said, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”
Abraham Lincoln, the greatest president in the United States history, accurately describes the strength and vulnerability of our nation with these words. The strength of our nation is that our armed forces and defense policies protect us from being attacked and destroyed by another nation. The vulnerability of our nation is that if we do not stand united, supporting the rights given to us in the United States Constitution, our nation could crumble.
In the Gettysburg address he said that all men are created equal and people are testing us that if we make a mistake then we fail and our ideas fail. Our people will die for no reason if we stop believing what Abraham Lincoln said about destroying ourselves.
“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.” In this quote he is stating that it is good to stay quiet and not get in other countries business. Than to be loud and take care of other countries problems for them. He’s saying it’s not our business unless they attack us.
“Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties”. He is saying that the Constitution is right no matter how many people think it is wrong so don’t mess with it or it will screw up our country. This is why President Abraham Lincoln impacted our nation more than any other U.S. president has.
