The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation
announces new food and catering services for the
Presidential Library and Museum

Secret Recipes and SUBWAY® join the team; book your event today

Springfield, IL — A Chatham firm and a nationwide restaurant chain are teaming up to provide food service for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM).

SUBWAY® will operate the Museum Restaurant and Secret Recipes Inc. of Chatham will provide exclusive catering services for events at the Presidential Library and Museum effective April 1. The Museum Restaurant will close on that date and reopen April 5 to allow SUBWAY® time to install equipment and fixtures.

SUBWAY® and Secret Recipes were chosen during an open bid process by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation, a 501c-3 not for profit organization whose mission is to support the educational and cultural programming of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. The Foundation also oversees the food service functions at the Library and Museum.

Augie's Front Burner provided all food service for the ALPLM since its opening in 2005. Owner Augie Marozowski decided not to bid on the food service to allow more time for his current downtown restaurant.

Secret Recipes Inc. was founded in 2003 by Dave Linn and Travis Schutte with a single Chatham location for carry out and delivery food items. They have since built a new Chatham location, opened a banquet facility in Springfield, and now employ about 40 full and part time staff. Their full food and service menus are available for events at the Presidential Library and Museum. For more information, visit www.presidentlincoln.org.

SUBWAY® franchisees Verne Evans and Mark Burris will provide the Museum Restaurant service through their operating entity, VCM Inc. In-house dining is available at the Presidential Museum Restaurant from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Evans and Burris own and operate seventeen SUBWAY®s in and around Springfield. SUBWAY® is an international restaurant chain with more than 31,500 stores in 86 countries, including more than 7,500 locations outside the United States. SUBWAY® is known for its fresh and healthy sandwiches and salads, made to order from the highest quality ingredients. SUBWAY® is one of the fastest growing franchises in the world.

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum offers locations within the Library for daytime meetings, conferences or events as well as evening receptions or dinners.
