Orientation program February 3 for new Abraham
Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum volunteers
Springfield, IL — Volunteers are invited to become a part of the excitement at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, which is gearing up for the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and is the nation’s most popular Presidential Library complex.
A volunteer orientation program has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Training sessions following the orientation will be held February 17, 24 and March 3, all at 5:30 p.m. in Library Multi-Purpose Room and will feature Library Director Kathryn Harris and State Historian Tom Schwartz. Volunteers are required to attend the orientation and training sessions, and are asked to make a commitment of two four-hour shifts per month.
Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum volunteers are needed to greet visitors and assist with special events and educational programs. They may also take advantage of continuing education programs throughout the year. For more information or to register for the February 3 orientation program, contact Volunteer Services Coordinator Linda Bee at (217) 558-8872.
