Presidential Museum offers unique gift ideas for
Mother's Day

Springfield, IL — The mother of all history museums has a lot to offer those looking for unique Mother's Day gift ideas.

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) in Springfield features items, performances and activities that can make a Mother's Day even more special. They include:
  • Reproduction Lincoln White House china in the Museum Store.
  • The A. Lincoln Cookbook assembled by Museum volunteers with modern and Lincoln-era recipes, available in the Museum Store.
  • Tickets to "The Civil War, a Musical" are now on sale with outdoor performances in Union Square Park during late July and early August.
  • Seats are available for the May 16 high tea, "My Grandmother's Apron," in the Presidential Library.
  • Your mother could invite 30 to 40 of her closest friends to a gathering for a luncheon or tea in the Presidential Library with the "To a Tea" and "Luncheon at the Library" programs offered by the ALPLM.
  • A Presidential Library Foundation gift membership lets mom get into the Museum free every day of the year, plus discounts in the Museum Store and to ticketed events, and members-only perks.
  • You can also take mom to a Mothers Day performance of the drama "One Destiny" at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 10 in the Presidential Museum's Union Theater (you should arrive early, as seating is first-come, first-served with paid Museum admission).

For tickets to "The Civil War, a Musical" or "My Grandmother's Apron," visit www.presidentlincoln.org or call (217) 558-8934.
