	Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum to host author, Lincoln scholar Gabor Boritt Boritt to discuss latest book followed by book signing Springfield, Ill. On Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006 at 7:00 p.m., author and Lincoln scholar Gabor Boritt will discuss his latest book The Gettysburg Gospel: The Lincoln Speech Nobody Knows, in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum's Union Theater. A book signing will immediately follow his presentation. In his new and unique narrative history, The Gettysburg Gospel: The Lincoln Speech Nobody Knows, leading Lincoln scholar Gabor Boritt presents an enthralling narrative of events of November 19, 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln gave his famous speech dedicating a new national cemetery. This unforgettable tale about the events preceding and following the address offers an informed assessment of Lincoln's remarks and how they took on new meaning in subsequent decades. The learned Lincoln student will be startled by the fresh picture that emerges; the general reader will be enthralled. Gabor Boritt was born and raised in Hungary, and educated in South Dakota and Massachusetts. The author of numerous books, Boritt has held visiting appointments at the universities of Cambridge, London, Harvard, Michigan (Ann Arbor), and Washington (St. Louis). He has won various awards and his work has been translated into five languages. In addition to Civil War roundtables, he has lectured at the Universities of Budapest, Belfast, Cambridge, Harvard, Oxford, and the Sorbonne, as well as at the Carter Library, National Geographic, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian, the Nobel Institute, and the White House.
