AGRICULTURE IN ILLINOIS

Agriculture is central to the story of Illinois, and for that reason, this project is one of our highest priorities. In this collection you'll find that our interviewees discuss nearly every aspect of agriculture in the state, not just corn, soybean and livestock production, but also an amazing array of crops and commodities, and a rich diversity of professions and outlooks. We've interviewed scores of farmers and farm families, but you'll also find interviews with FFA members, extension agents, university professors, researchers, farm leaders, government officials and broadcasters.

This is ALPL's general collection of agriculturally themed interviews. At present, it is limited in number, but will continue to grow over time. Patrons can search interview abstracts and transcripts using the Google Search Engine.
The A-V Barn is an exciting new collection of oral history interviews encompassing nearly every conceivable aspect of agriculture as it is currently being practiced today. The interviews were conducted in partnership with the Illinois State Museum.
