Volunteer at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We appreciate your interest in the Volunteer Services Department at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Following are some of the most frequently asked questions.

1. Is there a dress requirement?

Yes. We expect our volunteers to project a professional image. Male volunteers will wear khaki slacks; female volunteers may choose to wear khaki slacks or khaki skirt. A choice of a uniform shirt is available. The choices are a long–sleeved oxford and/or short–sleeved polo. Two styles of sweaters and a sweater vest are available. The cost of the uniform items is the responsibility of the volunteer.

2. Is there free parking?

Yes. Parking, in the ALPLM parking garage, will be provided for you during your assigned work shifts.

3. What incentive programs are available when volunteering?

We are continually searching for additional state and national incentive programs for which we qualify. Just recently we were a member of the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" incentive program and of Sage Hospitality's "Give a Day, Get a Night" program.

Feel free to contact us by phone at 217/558-8872 or by email at hpa.alplmvolunteer@illinois.gov

Thank you for considering volunteering.
