Abraham Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address on the afternoon of Thursday, November 19, 1863. He gave the speech at the dedication of the National Cemetery in Gettysburg. In the Gettysburg address Abraham Lincoln states “and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” But are all men really created equal? In my opinion, no, they are not. There are some people who are created equal while others are not. A young boy who is both born into money will have the same opportunities growing up whether it be there education they receive or the resources they have to provide them a good life. But then there’s a young boy born into poverty who goes to a public school rated as the lowest in the state. The difference between the boys is that the boy born to money have the opportunity to get some of the best education where as the kid born into poverty is faced to stay at the school he hates. The boy born into money will also inherit an already established business that they just have to go run and they will be set for their whole lives. The boy who was born into poverty will have to work to establish himself or to establish his business before he can have the nice car and the big fancy house. The main difference is that the boys born into money will get the money from their business or their inheritance. They however will be at a greater risk to make mistakes and lose their money because they think they are untouchable whereas the poor boy will be grateful.
